We are Lynn & Robert Boulier founders of Tail Waggin Training Center. We have collectively trained dogs since 1984. As proud parents of a child with Autism, who utilizes a service dog on a daily basis, we understand the nuances for the proper care and training of service dogs. Tail Waggin provides the consistent experience needed to train from home obedience, disabilities and working with Autistic children.
A service dog can provide several benefits to a child with Autism. They provide safety guidance, companionship, responsibility, improved social awareness, calmness, increased confidence, better communication, boundary setting, social awareness and less stress. It takes a minimum of 14 to 16 months to train a dog. Dogs are not matched with clients until they have finished training and ready for placement.
Service dogs are trained to aid in daily tasks we sometimes take for granted. Some people need help opening doors, reaching light switches, removing cloths and fetching items. Other folks may need help with balance support, emotional comfort and retrieval help. These dogs provide greater independence in a very independent world.
We also offer courses for trainers who would like to benefit from our experience in our proven methods of training service dogs. Our courses will be posted along with the curriculum well in advance of scheduled dates.
Our mission is focused on providing quality trained service dogs for individuals who will benefit from the use of a canine companion. Our commitment is provide each person with a dog they will come to depend on, love and learn from.
